Event Description
A chance to get out in the fresh air and learn some forest skills.
Time – 10am to 12 noon
Open to – Disabled children and siblings.
Meeting point – For those who can walk about 10 mins up a hill, please can they park in the main museum carpark. For those who have any mobility issues they will need to drive up the private lane, just past the entrance to Wheal Martyn and signed Carthew Farm. They need to be very slow (max 5mph) and come through the large double gates on the left-hand side.
Accessibility – The terrain is wheelchair accessible unless the weather is wet in the previous few days.
Clothing – Suitable for the weather conditions. Remember this is an outdoor activity and cloths may get dirty. Closed in shoes are advised.
Weather – This will only be cancelled in extreme weather conditions. Keep an eye on emails and the Caap Facebook page for updates.
Parking – There is free parking at the venue, see above in the meeting point section. What 3 words: taxi.signified.truck
Food and Drink – Bring drinks and snacks. There is a café on site serving hot and cold drinks and food.
Other Information – If any problems arise, they should be brought to the attention of the sessional worker who can escalate it to the manager/trustee’s if necessary.
Cancellation – If you need to cancel your place BEFORE THE DAY, please email info@caapuk.co.uk If you need to cancel your place ON THE DAY, please text the sessional worker on the caap mobile phone. This information will be given out nearer the time. In certain circumstances if tickets have already been bought you will need to pay for cancelled places unless we can fill them. We cannot always offer a refund.
IF YOU DO NOT TURN UP ON THE DAY AND DO NOT LET US KNOW WE WILL NEED TO CHARGE YOU THE FULL COST OF THE WASTED PLACE(S) (note the full cost is often much higher than the subsidised cost).
Health and Safety – All children and young people need to be accompanied by an adult carer. Please do not expect our sessional worker to look after your child / young person. You must stay with your child(ren) throughout the session.
Photographs – If you have previously told us that you do not want pictures of your child/young person to be used on our closed or public Facebook pages please ensure you let the sessional worker know upon arrival.
Please also respect the privacy of all our members by not posting on your personal social media photos that contain the images of children not yours.
