Event Description
Come and enjoy a visit to Geevor Tin Mine. This is the largest preserved mining site in the country. There are hands on, interactive activities for the whole family to enjoy. Experience going into a real mine underground and walking the tunnels. Have a go at panning for gold or colourful gemstones. All events and activities are included in the price.
Time – 10am to 1pm
Open to – Disabled children, disabled young adults, siblings and carers.
Meeting point – At the entrance to the mine.
Accessibility – Above ground is accessible however underground in the mine is not appropriate for wheelchair users. To go below ground you must be mobile. There are 3 accessible toilets on site with accessible lifts in the Hard Rock museum and between the shop and cafe.
Clothing – Suitable for the weather conditions. Remember this is an outdoor activity and cloths may get dirty. Closed in shoes are advised.
Weather – This will only be cancelled in extreme weather conditions. Keep an eye on emails and the Caap Facebook page for updates.
Parking – There is free parking at the venue, with blue badge parking at the front of the museum.
Food and Drink – There is a shop and cafe on site, serving hot and cold food and drinks.
Other Information – If any problems arise, they should be brought to the attention of the sessional worker who can escalate it to the manager/trustee’s if necessary.
Cancellation – If you need to cancel your place BEFORE THE DAY, please email info@caapuk.co.uk If you need to cancel your place ON THE DAY, please text the caap mobile phone. This information will be given out nearer the time. In certain circumstances if tickets have already been bought you will need to pay for cancelled places unless we can fill them. We cannot always offer a refund.
IF YOU DO NOT TURN UP ON THE DAY AND DO NOT LET US KNOW WE WILL NEED TO CHARGE YOU THE FULL COST OF THE WASTED PLACE(S) (note the full cost is often much higher than the subsidised cost).
Health and Safety – All children and young people need to be accompanied by an adult carer. Please do not expect our sessional worker to look after your child / young person. You must stay with your child(ren) throughout the session.
Photographs – If you have previously told us that you do not want pictures of your child/young person to be used on our closed or public Facebook pages please ensure you let the sessional worker know upon arrival.
Please also respect the privacy of all our members by not posting on your personal social media photos that contain the images of children not yours.
