If you intend to complete the application form using a mobile device you may need an app called PDF Gear which can be downloaded from either the App Store or Google Play.

Cornwall Accessible Activies Programme (CAAP) is a charity that was formed by a group of parents of children with additional needs, to support families to access activities during school holidays.

The criteria for becoming a member of CAAP are children and young people aged between 3 – 25 years who have (or have had) a statement/EHCP to attend a mainstream school or go to a special school, ARB or PRU. If a child does not meet this criteria but cannot attend mainstream activities, a professional involved in the child’s care can sign the referral form.

In order to subsidise activities we provide, we constantly need to apply for grant funding and seek charitable donations. These donations go towards supporting the disabled child and other members of the immediate family, making activities affordable to the whole family.

Once registered, your child/young person will be issued a unique membership number which will enable them to book activities via this website. Activities are not available to non-CAAP members.

CAAP membership also provides additional benefits including reduced entry fees at a number of attractions around Cornwall.  Please visit our membership benefits page for further details.

Some CAAP activities are also open to member’s siblings aged 0 – 18years this will be displayed on the activity details.

CAAP operates during all school holidays generally between 10am – 4pm depending on the activity. We also arrange a few of monthly activities like swimming and trampolining.

Each program is carefully constructed to include activities that cover the whole of the County, are age appropriate, safe, fun and promote the confidence of children and young people whilst encouraging them to step out of their comfort zone. Some activities are exclusively for the disabled child, some for just the siblings and the rest aimed at whole family participation.

Our Aims & Objectives:

  • Seek funding streams and apply as and when appropriate
  • Continually search for activity providers that are accessible and relevant to our members
  • Make sure we offer a wide range of accessible activities across the county
  • Regularly encourage feedback through consultation with families in order to shape the service to best meet the needs of the families accessing CAAP
  • Continue to operate in an open and transparent way

The Benefits of CAAP Membership

Physical Benefits

Many of the activities we offer are outdoors. These activities can get children away from their technology for a brief time and encourage them to exercise and be with other children and young people and have fun.

Essential Skills

Forest skills, swimming, dancing, cooking and just some of the many more opportunities to try new things which will can subtlety support their day to day life skills. This very much includes socialising with each other; learning to tolerate other children being in their space and sharing and communicating.

Develop Self Esteem

We also encourage the children and young people to believe in themselves & empower them to achieve! It may take time depending on the individual but we believe through small steps bigger achievements can be obtained.
